New PDF release: Far-Fetched

Via birdcalls and historical songs, rain patter and a child's scribble, the poems in Far-Fetched "sound the empty house / to check how lengthy / how some distance. " They keep on with the contours of Appalachian hillsides, Missouri river bends, and distant Australian coastlines, tuning language to panorama.

Tackle attracts us into obvious and invisible architectures, into acts of intimate and public tackle. those poems are centred, polyvocal, and sharply aware of acts of illustration; they take in my view their politics and within the method show anything in regards to the means civic buildings inhabit the mind's eye.

All’s taken away: my love and my power. The body, thrown into city it hates, Finds no joy in the sunlight. With every hour, The blood grows colder in my veins. The merry Muse is lately full of grief: She looks at me and doesn’t make a sound. She lays her head, wearing the darkened wreath, Upon my chest, exhausted and worn out. Each day, my conscience rages in a daze: It fumes, desiring a grand donation. I used to answer it while covering my face… But I’ve got no more tears or explanations.

Since morning, my arms trembled With restless uncertainty, - I had guessed the minute you’d enter This evening to visit me. I wrung the cloth in my fingers, At the table, sitting so close… Even then, I started to figure Just how small this earth truly was. 12 апреля 1915, Троицкий мост *** We thought: we’re poor and don’t own anything, But as we started to lose one thing after another, So much that each day became A commemorative day, - We began to write songs About God’s immense generosity And about the wealth we once had.

In vain you whisper sweet lies About falling under love’s spell, Your stubborn and hungry eyes, - I’m afraid, I know them too well! ” And I feel guilty somehow. Not long ago, he was living in bliss And knew no sadness till now.
